[ QUOTE ] At first they came for the Jews... You're right, it's a slippery slope to wild wage inflation left completely unchecked by any market adjustment causing the complete destruction of the economy. Yup. Slippery all right. For some reason I thought Skidoo was the only troll. It seems to be ok, iron corrected the problem. |

Re: Negative Fallout From Increased Wage Laws
[ QUOTE ]
TomCollins was owned by Smasharoo. That is all. [/ QUOTE ] You can own someone now without making any sort of an argument at all? Smasharoo's comments in this thread consist of openly mocking New Mexico Chile farmers like he has some sort of vendetta against them or something, and you laud this sort of posting style? Look through Smasharoo's last 50 posts and see if you can find one coherent argument. I dare you. The ratio of glib one-liners (that may or may not be relevant to the thread) to coherent arguments is infinity. I'm not condemning all glib one-liners per se; they can be pretty effective when you're trying to make a point. But Smasharoo never is. I agree to an extent that people tend to favor calling people they disagree with trolls over people they agree with. However, while I think their positions are pretty despicable, moorobot and Propertarian make logical, substantive arguments that contribute to dialogue on the forum. So do iron, poofler, dano, mosdef, ALawPoker, and most of the other statists for that matter. By contrast, Skidmasharoo (similar name/similar style, might as well be the same account) has never (as far as I know) provided one ounce of substance or made a coherent argument with any kind of a point. I dare you to search the last 50 posts of each and find where they have. |

Re: Negative Fallout From Increased Wage Laws
[ QUOTE ]
· Burdensome and poorly thought out local and statewide minimum wage laws. [/ QUOTE ] This is what content looks like. That is from the OP, linked to an outside source, and tied to a coherent argument intended to generate thoughtful debate. [ QUOTE ] my argument was that New Mexico chile farmers complaining about having to pay higher wages has virtually nothing at all to do with raising the Federal Minimum Wage. [/ QUOTE ] This is what trolling looks like. Classic Smasharoo. The OP never once even mentions the federal minimum wage, nor does Tom Collins. The OP is however clearly relevant to minimum wage laws in general. So WTF is he talking about? |

Re: Negative Fallout From Increased Wage Laws
He did sort of make OP's point for him though.
OP: [ QUOTE ] I'm sure not too many folks have much sympathy for businesses that suffer due to new minimum wage laws. I'm currently a resident of New Mexico. Chile farming isn't very big news other places but it's an important industry where I live. [/ QUOTE ] Skidmasharoo: [ QUOTE ] I cry a silent bloody tear of rage for all the poor disenfranchised chile farmers of New Mexico. I imagine the national GDP will collapse if they're forced to increase wages for the first time in a decade. Oh, alas, alas! [/ QUOTE ] You'll note this is another textbook example of trolling. Maybe Skidmasharoo are actually the OP's gimmick accounts. I don't really believe in putting people on ignore because who knows he might read a book someday and offer some content (heck even CANIS does sometimes), but this is the last post I'll make responding to him/them until then. |
