Default Re: Why are the 76ers favorites (Monday 2/5)?

Some things to consider:

Last 3 games, NJ has lost by an average margin of 19.7 points. Likewise, Philly is -3.7. NJ played 3 East teams, lost all 3. Philly played 3 West teams and beat NOK.

NJ is playing back-to-back. Philly is at home.

NJ is 13-9 ATS on the road. Philly is 7-12 ATS at home. Both are 2-5 ATS in their last 5 games (home or away).

Initially I was leaning towards NJ, but I think this is more of a no-play.

So I guess the consensus here is that there isn't a lot of value either way? Guess this would qualify as a "no play"?

Jason Kidd didn't even score two nights ago.

This is kinda a rivalry game for the Nets.

This is the night they turn it around.

Well, let's hope you're right.
Cause I've got 4 units on the game (1 unit for +0.5, 3 more for +1.5)
Funny thing is I've never felt this good about an NBA pick before. (I don't like to bet on the NBA unless I see a lot of sharps picking one side, like when I took the Celtics +9 a few days ago.)
So yea, every so often I just see something I like and go with my gut. It's probably -EV over the long run, but so far it's been going pretty good. (such as when my brain told me not to bet the -7 on the Colts cause I didn't think there was enough value even though I thought they were going to win, but then the spread moved down to -6.5 on D-Day and I took 2 units with less than an hour before kickoff.) Once in awhile I ignore my brain, and go with my gut/heart, and so far it's been working out.

We'll see after tonite.

Son of a-bitch.

I am going to get out my Fire Laurence Frank sign and bring it to the next game.

Yea, looks like I should've just gone with the original 1 unit bet. Let my heart talk me into those additional units. Still have to work on seperating my personal likes/dislikes from what the numbers tell me.
Really thought they were gonna pull out the win, though. They went on a 22-10 run at the end of the first half. Thought that as long as Kidd managed to hit his shots, Nets would win. Even going into OT, still thought Nets would squeak out a win. Really wish Carter hit that shot, but you can't win em all.
