Makes you a dbag

Also, the Colts coach saying [about both coaches], 'We're not only black, we're also Christian' is amazingly dumb.

I just think it totally undermines your accomplishments.

You didn't win because of sweet baby jesus, you won because you worked your ass off to be the best that you can be.

BFD. If faith is what Dungy attributes his success to, then you are an ass to disparage it. Unlike 99% of athletes, Dungy actually walks the walk when it comes to the God stuff.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. Most athletes say it just to say it, but not Dungy.

God doesn't hit the gym. But you weren't born with elite... Wait you were born with the best genetics on the planet.

Guess God doesn't have a lot to do with semi-miraculous recovery from cancer either. Queue Lance.

Publicly talking about your belief in God in a secular setting makes you a dbag

Yes, definitely. Talking about one of the most important things in your life at the hour of your greatest triumph is totally douchey. Especially when that thing was largely responsible for your maintaining the commitment required to stay at the very top of an unbelievably difficult profession despite the emotional toll taken by your teenage son's suicide.

What a d-bag.

I don't like when most athletes do this because it sounds insincere, especially when you consider their outside life. If someone actually "walks the walk", then more power to them.

I guess that everyone is assigned by god a labor to be performed, and only a few are to be lauded because they are blessed by god. The rest of us can toil in calvinist hell because we are not so blessed unless we proclaim to the media 24/7 about gods blessings.

Either that or we earn it through hard work by ourselves and those that we work with for 6 grinding months.

Nah, it's gotta be the god's blessing stuff.

What? Do you read what you've written before you click "Continue"? I can't understand what relationship your post has to mine, nor what the hell it is you're trying to say.

I couldn't give two damns whether you thank god or whoever or whatever else for your success, but why do you begrudge a man the belief that gives him inspiration and motivation to do his best? Quit worrying so damn much what everyone else is up to.
