Re: Buying Scalped NBA Tickets - How much of a deal can I expect?
AllinDan,
I came in about halfway through the 2nd quarter to the Suns game and there were still people trying to sell tickets. Though that was a Tuesday night I believe. |

Re: Buying Scalped NBA Tickets - How much of a deal can I expect?
If you really want to try to score a cheap ticket from a desperate scalper, this is your best play.
Park far enough away that you'll walk by several scalpers. Time it so you show up a few minutes after tip-off. DO NOT wear anything related to the sporting event you are attempting to go see, no hats or jerseys or anything like that. Do not initiate the contact with the scalpers, let them try to chase you, if it is after start time most will actively pursue anyone walking by. When they ask if you want tickets, ask "Tickets to what?" You want it to come across like you had no idea that a game was going on, but that you might go if the price was right. Many stadiums are in areas where it is absurd to act like you aren't there for the game but it doesn't matter, act like you are just passing by. |

in cleveland, there are many, many bars in the area around jacob's field and the Q...
my girl and i generally sit in the bars, and wait...right at about gametime, we can generally get tickets for far below their value... me: how much? scalper: these are $80 each, i'll sell them to you for $40 each.. me: i'll give you $40 total.. scalper: no way me: cool...(and i walk away) scalper: (running up to me) alright, alright, give me the $40... |

Play the scalpers against each other. That always helps me get a better price.
