You are ultimately responsible for the stick, since you borrowed it. Just because someone else broke it doesn't matter - it was under your care.

Now, your friend not confessing and not paying is a separate issue. He's a piece of [censored]. Why is this guy your friend?

Sometimes I lament the fact that I only have a few good friends instead of a big group of people to hang out with....then I read threads like this and I am glad.

tell him you are going to need to pay the guy back because you were the one who technically borrowed it from him, that he needs to pay YOU because you saw him break it, and he needs to man the [censored] up and ask tell him to stop being duch a dbag.
