I dont think players are as inclined to float with random cards on a monotone board.

Edit: You know the more I think about it the more I think a c/r will fold out any Q unless it's Ah,Q. This narrows villians calling range to a made flush or Ah,Q. I kinda like it......hmmmmmmm. [/ QUOTE ] You really think loose/bad players fold KQ or QsJh in this spot? |

I dont think players are as inclined to float with random cards on a monotone board. [/ QUOTE ] Seems like one of the better boards to float against a likely c-bet. That's often a very scary board for everyone, made hand or not. By floating this flop, villain gets to check out our turn action to see how much we like our hand given the scary texture of the board. If he isn't a thinking player, however, he's probably bluffing with a flush draw--or maybe a combo draw or a pair with a flush draw. |

Registrar seems to think we can add floating to "this" villians range. I don't necessarily agree but hey he was there so I'm inclined to go with it. If that's the case then I would have to give this villian a little bit better than loose/bad or the "default" title.
If you look at it this way do you see why we might fold out some Q's? |

I tend to play the board like this.
Fire out a decent (3/4 pot or so- i usually bet .5 pot) This will usually win, I get out if raised, and shut down and pretty much check fold turn and river. WHat really calls a decent bet on the flop? A flush, that has you crushed, A set that is waiting to boat Two pair. A moron qx A call bluff Ah, hoping for another heart. Most of these hands have you crushed. If the pot was yours, then you would have won it on the flop. The board is scarier to them, than it is to you. Not only are they dealing with a monotone flop, they are facing a pot bet! You have lost 450, and have 3.2k behind. I vote to give it up |

there is no shame to check/fold hands from time to time..
This looks like a q, and any loose/bad players is folding it way too seldom to make it wothwhile to try and push him off it. ps. i hate q high flop with a coldcaller in position... the usual hands that coldcall u are pps and kq aq. And when they give u action, well qx seem quite probable. |

IA flush, that has you crushed, Three higher hearts so I have outs here a lot of time A set that is waiting to boat nasty-but I have outs and sets usually raise the flop Two pair. Not particularly likely given the board A moron. Very likely. qx. Very likely A call bluff. Unlikely with nothing. Ah, hoping for another heart. Probably raises flop. Bets more on the turn [/ QUOTE ] |
