I abuse myself. And then I feel guilty. And then I abuse myself again.

Nothing.

I know it's going to happen, and as long as I feel as though I'm making good decisions, there's no reason to get angry at what you cannot control.

being less concerned about results is a great idea...i know i am results-oriented by the frustration i feel at the many hand histories posted without an outcome. it drives me nuts...
okay, well i have lost about half my roll in the past month. the only thing that has kept me sane is that i have recently started putting my hands on poker tracker. when my numbers keep telling my that i am running badly but otherwise doing okay, i can keep plugging away knowing that i am not just throwing my money away in a crazed and blind tilt. i can have faith that it'll get better.
since this losing session is more long term, i am jumping down one level for a while. reviewing my hands on the tracker, struggling to pay even better attention to the action, etc. rebuilding a bit from the ground up as well. i need to keep my game sharp, especially since i know that losing can alter how i play. i get timid and, i hate to admit it, weak tight.
and, of course, i come here to see who else is having a hard time and to remember that variance is just part of the game.
and i gotta throw something (but not a baby!) thx!

Not being results oriented is very easy to say and very hard to do. For example, it's easy to say "happens" when A5 < A4 when the result is that I am the last player in a tournament not to cash, but you know what? It [censored] blows. You feel robbed, it really isn't fun.

I wish I had a baby to punch.
