Re: So I got a $.02 check from BofA today...
Isn't this more appropriate for the "dick move" thread?

Re: So I got a $.02 check from BofA today...
You could do a story that Frank Abagnale chronicled in his book:
guy from Argentina visits US. Guy gets a parking ticket. Guy returns home to Argentina. Guy finds the parking ticket, and some US dollars he doesnt need/feel like echanging as he is unpacking, on a whim just stuffs the 22 and change into the envelop, and mails it back to pay the 20$ ticket. Receives a refund check for like 2.54. Modifies check to read 1.4 million, deposits it succesfully into his account, Argentina wont extradite him. |

Re: So I got a $.02 check from BofA today...
Well I work as a bookkeeper for a retail store so I deal with checks all day long. As someone already mentioned, the numbers on the bottom of the check are magnetic, so unless these numbers are tampered with, no human will ever see your check. And you cant just write on the numbers on the check as that wont interfere with the magnetized numbers. If you don't do anything to the check, it will just make its rounds through all of the check encoders, the money will be extracted from the proper account, and the check will never be seen again.
However, if you were to take some water and smudge just one number(the more the merrier), then the check would jam in its feeding process and you will get some human interaction. Now, if the number(s) you tampered with are unreadable, then this will cause some trouble for the bank, as they will have to try and figure out which account it goes to. On the other hand, they may see that its for 2 cents and just throw it away. |

[/ QUOTE ] Argentina doesn't extradite anybody. Being a citizen of the country, it's nice to know that I can pull one big scam and have a safe place to land. All I need is a big score and 24 hours to get away. |
