Surely gaining any EV is good?

Well ya, but 2 things:
1) You don't go to 0 ev by calling, you still have plenty in the main pot.
2) I think the ev is pretty marginal (althoguh definatly positive), and that you gain more by trying to cooperate and bust the shorttie.

Although, come to think of it, if BB is decent he's getting pretty good value by pushing when you call. Still, I prefer the call.

One thing to consider is that if the BB overcalls, and the short stack wins, then he triples up and is back in the game.

I understand wanting to cooperate to increase the chance that shorty loses, but i have seen many times where 3 or 4 cooperate to make the short stack healthy again.

So I say push.

He's basically tripling up anyway, BB is already stuck 400 the difference is from 1800 to 2100... basically if villain wins he's healthy regardless of BB's call or not.

I got berated for this at the table, of course.

Standard though, right? Push in order to get it HU, rather than call and try to knock the guy out?

Anybody just call here?

If you want to get into hair splitting, let's roll.

I said I got berated at the table, not that the table was berating me.

Thanks for playing though. Catch ya later.

I am not the grammar police. I just think that if you are going to question your move at a 22 because of random donks at your table throwing a fit, you should only do it when 3+ donks do so.
btw, I probably fold this. Shows what I know.

I'm just having fun with ya.

I'm not questioning my move per se, I just made the post because I thought that it was an interesting spot that could go either way.
