Hi,
Going to LA for the weekend.
Looking to visit one of the poker rooms Saturday afternoon/evening for a little 100NL action.
Where would be a good place to go as far as having a little fun, meeting girls and so on?

[/ QUOTE ]

At the Bike 100 NL is a top section game. You get unlimited free food and drinks while playing. Just understand that at 100 max NL, at the bike the blinds are 2/3. At the Hustler if they spread it its 1/3 or the 100-300 game is 2/5. Blinds are large, but the game plays larger as all in is very common.

Good luck.

[/ QUOTE ]

Note that The Hustler 100 fixed buy with 2/3 blinds never goes. The 2/5 blind 100-300 spread buy game goes all the time.

Note that free "food and drinks" at the Bike means free food and "soft" drinks. You never see free or comped alcohol at the LA County Clubs (except perhaps at a huge hosted game such as the Yosh Nakono game at the Bike).

For a fun, comfortable $100 game I'd stay away from the Commerce. The section is somewhat dreary and crowded and probably will be doubly so during the LAPC.

I'm too old to know anything about girls.

The $100 NL game at Commerce sucks compared to HG. I've never played at the Bike, I may have to foresake limit and play that instead.

Goto the Commerce - they have a bar there called Arena - there's a lot of girls that go there - grab some drinks et. al. Usually people there on the weekends.

Alternatively, grab a cab and make the drive to Burbank. For hook up bars, you can't get better than the Blue Room - voted on of the top pickup joints in LA.

there's some other great pickup[ bars close by as well - Burbank bar and grill has some dancing and small cover.

As I recall it's against California state law to comp alcoholic drinks in a public establishment.

Thanks for the replies.
Okay, so no chicks, but which place has the most "home game like" fun action.
Thanks.

The 40 NL at Commerce or Hawaiian Gardens. The later in the evening the better. The 100NL at Commerce is ok too and there are actually pretty hot chicks playing, but they are usually with boyfriends.

LOL!! I've played in there with my girlfriend a few times and I crack up everytime when I see one of these guys playing $20NL or $40NL wearing a hoodie/hat, sunglasses and ipod firmly attacthed. Bafoons. Tournies or maybe the high limit games but that.
