So the jeweler attempts to make unauthorized repairs on your watch (most likely to juice your bill), breaks it in the process and says you are SOL? I think that you will have no problem winning in small claims court.
I have a Sub and they took the links out of it while I waited about 5 minutes. Also people who tend to say I'm calling my (insert relative's name here) who is a lawyer, are generally full of [censored], and/or the lawyer is a joke. |

Do people go to this store often? like when you are there are other customers there because I'm "that guy" that will make a scene often and talk a lot louder than would be necessary so everyone can hear what a piece of [censored] this guy is. It can get awkward for him very fast.

[ QUOTE ] Faucet, "I bought a Rolex Oysterquartz online last September." "Should I look to be compensated for sentimental value?" Hahahahhaa, WTF? [/ QUOTE ] Please do not poke fun. OP bought said watch before doing a tour in Iraq and his subsequent POW ordeal. I think you know the rest: ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Yes the watch has spent 10 years in my ass, so it's obviously of high sentimental value. Seriously though I will do what I can to milk this [censored] if it doesn't get settled out of court, he is a slick-talking [censored] and he needs to get burnt. |

[/ QUOTE ] I did this when I was 19 to a car dealership that tried to swindle me (surprise surprise) I wanted my $500 deposit back and they 'couldnt find the guy who wrote the checks' until I sat in their lobby and shouted to each and every person who walked through the door that they would be screwed over royally. I had a $500 check in my hand w/in 10 min. after that. |

You should file some simple papers at the courthouse and bring him to small claims court for the value of the watch. Discard the nonsense about sentimental value and just stick to the facts of the transaction. You don't need a lawyer because the odds are very high that one of three things will happen:
He will show up at the hearing alone He will offer you the value of the watch He will not show up and you will get a default judgement This is one case where in most states the process works fairly well and you are likely to get a decent hearing on the facts. |
