If you just call, your hand is face up,and now you would possibly play against 2 opponents who know your hand.

What range of hands calls $93 cold with another guy left to act?
Just take it down preflop, you can even maybe get AK to laydown.

The argument for 4 betting is that despite folding out all worse pps than our QQ and only getting action from KK/AA, we still fold out AK. When we c/c a 3 bet, our range is very narrow and we're very easy to play against. Against a decent player like preposterous, it's like giving him a free shot @ our stack if we just call, so it's more profitable to play our hand as a bluff, i.e., 4 bet.

i don't really agree our hand is face up...what stops us from having aa or kk here? regardless yes, he will know we are strong, but without any history or reason to believe we can get him to put any more money in the pot with a worse hand i don't think a 4-bet has any merit.

Huh? So you think preposterous will be more likely to bet into us if he also think KK/AA could be in our range? Ehh. Against a much worse player, I may like a cc tho, because you can conceivably get him to put in money w/ JJ or worse sometimes even tho you call the 3 bet cold. But against preposterous, cmon, you seriously think he pays us w/ JJ or worse postflop when we cold call the 3 bet?

i've never played vs. this villain but it seems very obvious to me he's a lot more likely to pay you post flop with a worse hand rather than pf.

Heres the arguments I've seen so far:

A) we 4 bet because if we just call our hand is transparent - well isn't our hand transparent if we 4 bet? it also makes it hard for him to make a mistake. WE might even make a mistake if he pushes AK and we fold.

B)if we just call hes going to outplay us on the flop and can easily stack us - exactly how is he going to outplay us? just about the only way is if an A or K comes and he gets us to fold. he put so much in pre-flop if we dont fold past the flop its profitable for us. he's at least going to cbet and we'll get that a decent amount of time. sure sometimes we run into kk/aa or some flop that hit him but if his range is that light most of the time we should be ahead and can take his cbet.

Anyone see anything wrong with my logic?

Our hand is transparant no matter what we do.
With 4 bet you don"t give 2 people a shot of stacking you for free.
