What is your rationale for 3-betting the flop but folding the turn?
You felt your equity went from sky high to none just like that? You must call the turn. |

Live 15/30 MP= Bad loose player who will makes quite a few stabs with air, but quickly goes into loose-passive mode against resistence. Button= good thinking player. 3 limps I call Kd7d in sb. Flop: Kc Td 6d I bet, Mp raises, Button calls, I 3bet, Mp goes 4, Button now caps. Turn (10bb): 5s I check, MP bets, Button calls, I fold. [/ QUOTE ] I'm sure every response says this but I haven't read them yet. Why are we folding here? Last night I had one of the most passive regulars go crazy and bet-4bet the flop on K55 board from the small blind. The entire table was waiting to see quads and he turns over KQ. You should have seen the looks on everyones face. People do wierd things, in a pot this size you don't have to think that your draw is completely dead because 4 bets went in on the flop. |

[ QUOTE ] bingo...the first time i read the post i didn't even respond cuz the question is so retarded...you are getting such over 10-1 on your flush draw, folding here would be beyond bad... [/ QUOTE ] What range do you give a smart player on the button here? [/ QUOTE ] Your flush draw can be dead here well over half of the time and it still would be correct to call here. |

Button= good thinking player. Reading that through, I can't help but think that a hand like 66 could also be in button's range. It's just a thought. Regardless, I don't fold this in this spot. The pot got way too big on the flop. |

"One more question. If I call and bet a diamond river, what do you think Button’s raising range is?"
a boat or a nut flush pretty much always. I think it's actually pretty bad to raise a Q high flush in that spot. |

I call all day and all night here - easy - you have plenty of outs to call one bet to see the river.

Ok, ok, I get it. Folding is stupid. In the actual hand I called the turn, but wasn't too happy about it. The river was an offsuit 8, I checked, MP bet, Button called and I folded. MP showed KT and Button mucked so I never saw his hand.

Wow. What a terrible fold.
Unlikely that Button has Axd. He'd likely have raised it preflop if he did. Not sure of any 'good thinking players' that wouldn't in that spot. Might have QJs, though some would raise that also. 89s or 78s might be there as those are more button limp hands. MP looks like he has KT. Maybe a set once he bets the turn. b |
