[ QUOTE ]
I doubt he's checking a made flush twice. You have to bet more on the turn to build that pot and make a bet on the river easier to call. The allin makes it look like you're repping the flush too hard after the turn bet. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with betting more on the turn to build the pot, but repping the flush isn't really an issue here, because JJ = flush, if villain doesn't himself have a flush. |

Re: 200NL Middle set on flush board
No i mean you're less likely to get a call from like a AQ because you're repping a big hand so hard. The set of J's is more concealed than the flush draw.

Re: 200NL Middle set on flush board
Preflop, I think calling and raising are both good. I thought about raising and decided to call this time.
Okay, I never normally see monsters under the bed, I'm more likely to value stack myself but when the PFRer c/minraised me, alarm bells went off in my head. That's why I played so tentatively on flop and turn. I finally convinced myself on the river that I was a fool to put him on only one hand and pushed. Villain tanked, typed "This is sick. Top set. I've lost with a set against a flush 3 times today", and called with QQ. (Sounds like it was nearly a great bluff.) So my read was QQ. And it was QQ. So I'm wondering whether I should of trusted my read more, or whether it just happened that I was right this one time. But I know if I read someone else's post saying this, I'd think, stupid results-oriented fish, there's no way you can put villain on one hand. Next time I'll raise flop. |

Re: 200NL Middle set on flush board
OP, please don't put villain on one single hand, no way your read can be just that precise. I agree that his line really is scary, but still, QQ and only QQ beats you on the flop. If he has gotten that lucky, I think I just have to pay him off. Is it really IMPOSSIBLE that he is playing AA/KK/draw/random bluff like this on the flop?
I really need a mega-super-razorsharp read to put him squarely on one hand, and I think I have never had such a good read actually.. |

Re: 200NL Middle set on flush board
I'd re-raise preflop to something like $23. Then bet near the pot and push to any aggression. OOP better to re-raise preflop and kno where you stand.
You re-raise big preflop with more hands than AA KK your more likely to get your stack in when your sitting with AA and somebody looks you up. |

"You re-raise big preflop with more hands than AA KK"
Of course, but I'd rather raise with 67s and call with JJ rather than the other way round. |

Why everybody likes to bet on the turn? [/ QUOTE ] with 3 spades out there, it's important to charge him just in case he has the A or K of spades... no he doesn't have a flush here with just a turn call...i atually think he might have QQ here too, but since flush seems unlikely, i'm throwing my stack in there... |
