Re: Hurray for Hand Reading
btw of course because you posted it, this has a high chance of being some weird go stop go superbluff it's just not a very good one because people hate folding an ace in this spot.

Re: Hurray for Hand Reading
bb prob is bluffing or has AQ
button prob has Qx, occasionally mid pairs tho and if he is cleverish he can have an overpair too. |

Re: Hurray for Hand Reading
If Ansky is correct that button has a QJ/QK I think I like a fold to the push.
Obviously the title of your thread indicates that the button made a heroic (and correct) call with some piece of cheese like QT or 99 but I am ignoring that in my 'long-run' advice and I am hoping that you can prove me wrong. -Steve |

Re: Hurray for Hand Reading
Ansky,
in rhythym. CF, Sorry if the title misled you. It was more of a "lets practice hand reading" then an actual comment on the hand. I used to do a bunch of these threads and its been a while. |

Re: Hurray for Hand Reading
If Player A assumes player B can't call without an A or 2, then he could really have anything. But if he plays pretty standard and seeing as how the action went check check on the turn, ill credit player A for either midpair or an A. However if I knew player B was a little nitty im pushing here with a trash a decent amnt as well.

Re: Hurray for Hand Reading
MLG,
One too many H's. I'd call a hand that can beat a bluff if I'm button. Unless bb is capable of value shoving an ace, which very few ppl are anyways. |

Re: Hurray for Hand Reading
Player A has some sort of bluff on the flop. Probably a mid pocket pair, though it's possible he had complete air (with or without an ace), or A5s. Player B probably has KQ-QT, or AA,QQ,55,22 (small chance of KK) though it's also somehwat possible he has JJ-99 if he has reason to think the BB is making a move. He should probably look him up with almost the entire range because player A's turn check shows very real weakness unless he's being incredibly tricky, which we our history indicates is unlikely.

Re: Hurray for Hand Reading
I think 'B' could have any 2 broadway cards which include a Q or a weak Ace. I think 'A' has a weak ace, maybe something like A5. On the River bet, 'A' could be thinking that if they both have weak aces, it's going to be chop and with his all-in he can steal the whole pot.
