Re: I\'ve got a boat but wtf has he got?

[ QUOTE ] I bet/call the river. FH vs. FH is rare. [/ QUOTE ] The reason I didn't consider betting is 'cause I don't think villain ever checks the river thru here. [/ QUOTE ] Yes. Didnt realise that. So I like a c/r/c better. |

[/ QUOTE ] it's not about the villian not betting, it's about not putting in 3BB on the river after putting in 4 on the turn. This is not a fish we are dealing with. If you c/r this river, and get 3bet, you will be losing almost always, but can't fold Bet/calling puts in two bets, which is better than 1, and much better than 3. |

Re: I\'ve got a boat but wtf has he got?
I don't see how putting in 2 bets is any better than 3. You're screwed just about as much when he raises your bet vs. when he 3-bets your check raise. The only difference is the ratio between the bets you win and lose. 3:2 is better than 2:1, so checking the river is better unless he reacts amazingly different to a bet vs. a check raise (hint: he won't).
The decision really is between check calling and check raising. I think he has a ten or straight often enough to take the 3:2 deal. Calling a 3-bet hurts, but so does calling a raise if you bet. It's just cool when you get two bets out of KT or a straight, which won't happen if you lead after his turn cap. |

Re: I\'ve got a boat but wtf has he got?
C/R then call a 3-bet, I have no doubt in my mind.
J9, QT, QQ, 88 are all played like this 100% of the time 17 combinations you beat 6 combinations you don't beat Add in some AT's, a few way over played AA/KK's now and again and I think playing it any other way is clearly inferior. |

Re: I\'ve got a boat but wtf has he got?
dude his af is 10 with normal vpip and pf #'s. I like the way you played it. I c/r the river and call his 3 bet..a cap is too much for me here.
I say 65% of the time he has either J9 or Q10 here. |

Re: I\'ve got a boat but wtf has he got?
I think you can beat a lot of hands he would play this way. You are losing to QQ, QT, Q8. You are ahead of J9, Tx, perhaps an overaggressive player may get carried away w/ K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] . In any case, there are a lot more combinations of hands that can't beat yours. He will almost certainly bet the river if you check, I see a turn cap for free SD as a rare play. I would check/raise the river and call a 3B.
