You're telling me that they could find out who I am just by knowing my name, address, and phone number?

Got,

Quite likely. Paypal went through a similar process w/ the government (both state and federal) to basically be allowed to conduct their primary business in the US.

I'm very very glad-- Have a lot of friends sweating it out though.

I'm in the same boat, declared 100% of my taxes, but LOTS of buddies didn't. They keep im'ing me asking what's going to happen. I keep saying...well...pay your taxes in the first place.

It is very easy to get a social security number with a name and address. It costs individuals much more but corporations can purchase this service for about $.25 per social security number search. The last four digits they ask for is just for extra verification that the correct John Smith from 211 Oak St was returned.

Thank you,

Jim Kuhn

If you haven't been paying your taxes and you are worried, simply hire an accountant, pay the fines and file late. You'll be covered.

Correct?

I think that is a bad plan, if you make good money don't risk it. If you are making a couple thousand or so it likely will go unnoticed is my guess. From my end, I just sleep better paying what I owe. Thats just me.

You can use your losses outside the Poker room to offset those online.

I make sure they track all my losses at BJ, Craps, Roulette, ect...

When they ask for my card, I tell them no, then if I have a losing pit session, I give them my card to track what I lost.

Trust me, it works.

I think so. They might have been doing it anyway. Who knows.
