Re: Interesting near-serious very weird accident
[ QUOTE ]
I've always thought that there has to be a way to clean off truck roofs (rooves?). I have had to dodge big sheets of ice too many times, and I am pretty sure they would have done some serious damage. [/ QUOTE ] You, sir, need to visit this thread. |

[ QUOTE ]
I hate to be a nit, but this isn't an accident and the past tense of brake is braked. [/ QUOTE ] In Oklahoma, we say "broked" |

Re: Interesting near-serious very weird accident

[ QUOTE ] I should have stopped and gotten a piece. The stuff in my bed was about 2 1/2 inches. [/ QUOTE ] If it was roughly that thick, and if you hit it while you were going more than 20 miles per hour, I would guess it wouldn't cause any damage. [/ QUOTE ] I think given the weight of the thing (for example, I just went out and grabbed a piece from my driveway about a 18 inches square which weighed four pounds!), I would have been lucky to get away with just a broken windshield and some dents. |

Heh, I thought this thread was about how you almost hit a guy walking his dog.

Re: Interesting near-serious very weird accident
Similar thing happened to my girlfriend before I met her. She was driving behind a semi and a sheet or rock of ice fell off the top. She wasn't as lucky as you and it hit her windshield. I don't remember if the entire windshield shattered or what. She apparently had a bunch of small pieces of glass all over her face. Luckily, that was the worst of the damage.

Re: Interesting near-serious very weird accident
My friend was driving along a couple years back and a huge piece of ice/snow flew off the top of a tractor trailer hitting his windshield smashing it into a million pieces.
I imagine something like that would have happened if it had hit you. |
