Sheiky played high stakes poker way before his WSOP cash. He has a lot of money outside of poker if I remember correctly, so his WSOP cash likely changed very little with respect to his poker hobby. Also, I don't think Sheiky has ever claimed to be a world class poker player or even a professional poker player for that matter.

No but he did continually go off on how horrible all the players at his table were that year he made down to the last 50 or so. If I remember correctly he constantly went out of his way to tell everybody at the table "This is pathetic, not one person here at this table knows how to play poker. And this is the world series poker." Or something to that degree. Either way Sheiky was pretty rude and full of himself that day. Thank God Matusow came in ran his mouth at him to put him in his place. Never thought I'd be able to say that about Matusow until that day. Now I find him hilarious, but still can't stand one thing about Sheiky.

If I remember correctly many people here posted that before his cash he played either 200/400 or 400/800 mixed and the game was scheduled around when he could play, in other words he was the big fish in that game. If he's a losing player I don't have any idea why he would play since he's already rich from his chain of stores and from what anyone ever sees of him he clearly seems to hate playing poker.

Confirmed. Played with him many times pre WSOP at those levels. Tasty tasty. (In fact, he was one of only a handful of players I would step up to 4/8 to play with)

IMHO, TV makes him look like LESS of a jerk, but I do so miss him.
