BetOnSports or BOS was a well respected book that when the US hit them up side the head they folded with all the US players money. They might have like a 2% chance of ever getting it back.

it has long been speculated that bodog is dependent on incoming deposits to become solvent, in that it does not have rock solid financial underpinnings of the greek and cris, nor do they keep their funds in escrow or short-term guaranteed investments like neteller and pinny.

basically whatever money they have on hand they spent, on the theory that it will generate more income down the line thru additional deposits. you can witness this by seeing the ridiculous millions upon millions they spent on self-serving advertisements (bodog girls anyone?).

the fear is not that they will intentionally cut and run, but that once betting market bottoms out due to the current regulations, their incoming deposit wells will dry up and they don't have the funds in reserve to be able to pay out everyone who currently still have funds in their account. think of it as a glorified pyramid scheme

neteller, it's been official for a few hours now. bodog likely will still accept u.s players as that's their lifeblood, ironically you should hope they still accept u.s residents when you w/d b/c the day they stop taking u.s wagers is likely the day they become insolvent. best way to deposit to bodog now i suppose is e-check, however why anyone still would is beyond me.

Wow. I have $5k in Bodog. Do you think it is safe?

I think your money is safer at Bodog than at other books, but I would recommend cashing out and doing an EFT from Neteller to your bank account (or using your preferred method). It will be easy to get funds back online down the road if the dust settles.

My concern is that I have to have the funds travel through neteller and I would hate for my funds to get caught up there if something happens in the next couple of days.

Is there bad news for Neteller or Bodog in the near future? Not sure why they would only stop Neteller deposits, but am I better getting my money out of Bodog/Neteller/both?

I share this same concern, I currently have 14K in Bodog, & not sure if I trust Neteller right now with all that's going on.
I'm considering having them mail me a check, anyone done that with success before at BD?

Personally I moved most of my funds from various books to tradesports.com through via neteller. TS keeps segregated accts with cust funds and since their an exchange, they have a pretty riskless business model. That's the place I feel most comfortable placing funds right now (except the bank).

If i were you and wanted the funds out, I'd request a check from bodog. If you want to keep funds online safely, check out TS. (i can refer you if you don't have an acct, PM me).
