I think it's kind of weird this isn't an issue at all on the home-page or on the magazine page.

When the slow-downs are ludicrously bad (kind of like now) you can just head over to the 2+2 magazine which is still as fast as it's supposed to be.

I'm guessing these are static pages (.htm or .html) and don't really interact with the ubb software or the database.

The next thing to do is figure out what, if any, pages exist that use the ubb software but don't actually interact with the database directly, and see if these are affected. If they are, it points to the ubb framework, if not, it points to the database.

My experience with web/database servers points my suspicions that there's a corrupt index or job in the database.

Yeah, I experience the same. It seems like this should narrow the source of the problem down considerably.

I have a new theory that I don't think has been broached before.

I don't want to get too technical for you, but if we think of the internets as a series of slots, like a drain cover, then if we keep poking a stick at the drain cover, sometimes, and quite suddenly, at full thrust, the stick goes through one of the slots and ends up in the gunk at the bottom of the drain.

That's what I think is happening.

I think you're right Mike, we're in the sh!t now!

It would sure be nice if you could cease spouting egghead technobabble and say something we can understand.

In Roman numerals, your location and avvie would be 50-0-50.

"0" isn't a Roman numeral.

Always wanted to know what it was like to be a nit.

I'm sorry, disjunction. I know what you mean.

What I'm trying to say is that Twoplustwo is broken.

If we all accept this premise, and move onto other forums, for those few who remain everything will be fine.

Good luck, all.

Every man for himself.
