Re: Double-stack 20/40 calldown
how frequent is squeezing in this game?
because it looks a whole lot like spades/boat to me. Also I dont think there are too many hands in your range that fold river after calling turn here, so that probably cuts down on his 3-barreling somewhat. |

Re: Double-stack 20/40 calldown
Poker becomes a lot easier if you just fold this flop

Re: Double-stack 20/40 calldown
The only way to make a play like this is to have a really good read that you did not provide us with. Assuming none exists, preflop is the only well played street.

Re: Double-stack 20/40 calldown
congrats if you won this but this hand isn't worth discussing because it's not near standard(or creative or anything) in a vaccuum.

Re: Double-stack 20/40 calldown
What site has 20/40 full ring games ?
Also this looks donkish to me but many high stakes plays looks donkish to middle stakes grinders so I guess it doesnt matter much. |

Re: Double-stack 20/40 calldown
Ok, Baris guessed it, this is indeed a reverse post. I'm Villain and I had 43 hearts for a complete bluff. I don't want to berate the Hero in this hand though. He is a very tricky and persistent player that plays looser than most, and has always given me trouble. I don't see how he can have a read on me for this hand since it's a new account and this is the first time we've played together on this account. After he made this call, I immediately packed up and quit to avoid tilting, because I couldn't see how it was possible, and I thought that maybe I was outplayed. I'm trying to get into his mind and his thought process in this calldown. If everyone agrees with my original thought that this is a horrible play by him, maybe he's just not as good as I thought and I can push this edge.
It seems that the only point I can really take out of this is that my river bluff wasn't great. At the time, I was hoping to knock out KK/QQ/JJ with a spade by shoving the river. Would a big hand be more likely to check to induce a shove from something like that? I'd probably shove a lower set or a flush in my (Villain's) position, but maybe not AA or AK, given that AA will get a shove from a lower set anyway and AK won't get a call from anything I beat. Should I just check/fold my trash on the river? |

Re: Double-stack 20/40 calldown
I think he should have folded!!!! He is either a donk or had your # on this one. Nice job on leaving / avoiding tilting $$$ away --
What was your timing on your bets? That might have been the givaway ... |
