Anyway, just tell them you invest. If they ask what you do specifically, just say something like "This and that" or "Whatever I feel like doing" or "A new thing every month" or something.

Trading. Traders refer to their trades as bets, so feel free to refer to your bets as trading relative value [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

There are plenty of theses (including one I'm writing) on sports betting as financial markets that would agree with this logic.

Tell people whatever you want, but please don't use the word "skizzle" when doing so.

I'm taking 3 months off from my full-time job to play poker full-time (among other things). I tell people that I miss summer vacations and that not going to work sounds a lot better than going to work. If they ask what I'll be doing, I say "Nothing." The most common response I get to that is "Sounds good." I'd suggest telling people you'll be doing nothing and don't elaborate. At worst, it always gets interesting facial expressions.
