I think Pavin wins this going away. At worst Pavin is going to shoot upper 70s. No 15 handicapper is going to be able to take on a TPC course with 2 chances per shot and shoot in the 70s, even from the reds.

Pavin 74, Ivey 85.

It's per hole, not a cumulative score for 18. But still, you have to take Pavin.

I'm a 17 and there's no way I could beat someone like that even getting a mulligan per shot. Just no way. I would still bogey many holes. Hmmmmm - I'll have to try this out - sounds like loads of fun.

Oh, going match play I still think Pavin wins by a score no worse than 4 & 3.

I set this bet up between 2 friends of mine to take place on the 13th of this month ... for substantially less than $10k of course.

Ivey's stipulation was 2 shots, so that's what we're going with.

One friend of mine averages around a 92. The other can shoot anywhere from mid 70s to mid 80s depending on how he's swinging the club that day. Mid 80s for him though is a pretty bad day. 77-80 is probably normal.

Same tees? Seems like an OK bet. I'd guess the guy who shoots 92 will be in the high 70's-low 80's. Depends on his actual weaknesses, obviously, but in general, they may wind up close.

I'm thinking a mid-high handicapper can get about 10 strokes this way. Maybe a little more, depending on how smart a player he is and how he takes advantage of his extra shot.

84 in a scramble is nothing to brag about, and I think Huck is pretty decent, so Phil is probably pretty bad. I think they said he's a 15? That sounds generous. As Helmuth or someone said, you have to figure he's still going to bogey (at least) a lot of holes, even scrambling. I'd take Pavin.

From what I've seen of Ivey's golfing on TV, he is no 15 handicap.
