spaghetti with ketchup??

My dad eats spaghetti with ketchup. Whenever we have spaghetti & he gets out the ketchup bottle, I cringe. I never say anything - it's his food. But today he did it in a diner (at least it wasn't an Italian restaurant...well - he does eat it with sauce when we go to Italian restaurants, but I guess ordering pasta in a diner is questionable to begin with).

I actually felt embarassment by it.

Am I wrong in thinking this is a HUGE eating faux pas?

Is this a Jewish thing maybe? (yes - I'm a jew...I guess, sorta)

He's convinced that he's not the only person on the planet who swears by the pleasures of spaghetti with ketchup on it. I'm sure he's not....but still......ick....

Does anyone here eat spaghetti with ketchup on it - or know someone who does?

I know this is hardly important - but an argument ensured....thoughts by the 2p2 community on this situation are greatly needed.
