Like Smiley said, Prague is an awesome city.

I didn't spend 3 months there, but I was there for about a week last year.

Don't take the taxis, I hear they are all run by the mafia and the drivers will rip you off.

The tennis shoes euros wear are more "narrow" then the typical American shoe. I'm sure she will be able to pick some up over there if she feels like it is essential to blend in.

FWIW I never felt unsafe while I was in Prague, or any town in CR actually (I went to Pilsen and Kutna Hora as well)

There are reputable companies, but you they are only available by phone. I don't have the numbers of them but they shouldn't be too hard to find.

One funny story I remember occured when I was wandering around old town around midnight and some british guys on a stag were trying to get a cab to the main train station (maybe half a mile). The driver quoted them 500 crowns ($20), an actual cab with a meter would probably charge closer to 75 crowns ($3).
