One of my monitors is shorter than the other and "Kill Phil" is just the right hieght to make up the difference. It is essential in that respect. Not good for anything else.

I don't consider Kill Phil essential at all. It's a shame really. The book is very good and has very solid material. However, the material it covers is of minimal importance to someone interested in increasing their skill in NL MTTs. Sure the system will get you a lot of 50/50 shots at high skilled players (if they call), but wouldn't you rather learn to play poker rather than push/fold?

This is exactly the type of response I was looking for. Thank You!

What's the consensus on PTF?

I think PTF is a very good read.
One standout for me was that it helped me alot on how to chip up in the middle stages.

I haven't yet read this one but will soon. The word is that its a good book but may have some flaws in it's information. Check it out by using the search function. There were a few threads that went into great detail about it.

Here is one of the threads: Link

Also, I think that either last month or the month before was Mason's review of it in the "magazine".
