Re: Do you 4-bet AA or KK?
[ QUOTE ]
I think a lot of it would depend on table image and if he's 3-bet you before. I'd be more inclined to 4-bet KK than AA. My usual line is to smooth call the 3-bet with AA however [/ QUOTE ] The best time to do it is when it looks like it is out of frustration from being 3 bet. 4 bet shoving makes you look more tilted and your range look wider...although sometimes my range is wider on a 4 bet shove, which is why I throw AA and KK into that mix as well sometimes. |

Re: Do you 4-bet AA or KK?
I flat call then hope they cbet the flop with AA quite a bit, KK too but less. Depends if I've been 4betting light and they know it, and what they will go broke with. Against some people I just jam and hope they think I have AK or FOS.

Re: Do you 4-bet AA or KK?
I think you need a matrix of laggy/taggy/tight with you and your opp to come up with situational answers. Relatively impossible to answer this in a vaccuum. Given you play well post-flop.

Re: Do you 4-bet AA or KK?
i think my position on the 3-better has more to do with whether i 4-bet, as opposed to whether on not i have KK or AA

Re: Do you 4-bet AA or KK?
Well if you never 4-bet before doing it with AA will be pretty transparent.
Image is what it comes down to. |

Re: Do you 4-bet AA or KK?
I 4 bet if I'm 4-betting same villan with air occasionally. in other words if he's 3 betting a big range.

Re: Do you 4-bet AA or KK?
with AA, if he has reraised to less than 1/10th of his stack then i 4 bet.
if he has reraised to more than 1/10th of his stack then i flat call. reasoning being assuming i will stick the majority of my chips on the flop and the rest in on the turn, i want to make sure im not giving him odds to hit his set. my line is about 1/10th in this situation. now admittedly im not charging him when i flat call if he raises to greater than 1/10th of his stack, but he is effectively charging himself. if he is making a mistake by charging himself too much, i will flat call. if he is not making a mistake by me not charging him enough, then i reraise (4bet) to charge him enough that he is not getting odds to flop his set. as for KK, it is entirely opponent dependent. vs a lag opponent i will flat call as his hand range contains enough non-AA hands. if he is a nit then i reraise and if he 5bets i likely fold. but hopefully he will delay for a while and either flat call with AK/QQ/JJ or fold. |

Re: Do you 4-bet AA or KK?
JW, if you 4bet with air, lets says 86s, assuming 2/4 NL $400 eff stacks, you 4bet to $160. He shoves all in as a 5bet. You fold then right...this makes it hard for anyone to give respect to your 4bets in the future.
