My friend,

I wish to offer you my congratulations for your unexpected lottery win. Rejoice! It must seem even more fortuitous to win a prize in a lottery that you do not recall entering.

Those of you who are advising grandgnu not to persue the money he is entitled to should be ashamed of yourselves.

Grandgnu, I strongly advise you to begin the process of retrieving your funds. This will truly be a merry Christmas for you, my friend!

Your friend,
Idi

Idi,

I am still waiting on my $100,000 that you promised me. I have sent you your processing fee that you required, now where is my money?

It all just seems way too good to be true, and there's a lot of stuff that seems fishy.

I don't remember any situation where someone suspected a scam and was wrong.

OP,

Tell your wife to stop entering all those "giveaways". Where do you think the scammers got your name and address?

If by some miracle the check clears, you've gained $2250

[/ QUOTE ]

No, you haven't.

We've been over this and over this and over this. This is the 100th OOT thread about this type of scam.

You deposit this check. You bank credits your account. You take this to mean that the check "cleared". You spend this money.

After a week or two, your bank comes to realize that the check is bogus, and takes back the money they had credited to your account.

I can believe that there are people in the world who still fall for this. I can't believe that there are OOT'ers who don't know this yet.

Funny, I took "if the check clears" to mean, "if the check clears." not "if i see money in my account."

You mean you continue to investigate this check AFTER you've received the funds? Well, that puts you in a <1% minority. How do you do this?
