I've had a lot of success lately with aces inducing a big bet preflop. I always take a look around the table when I pick them up and check out the chip stacks (obviously this doesn't work live, because people would pick up on it), and see what stacks are out there. If there's a short stack, I ALWAYS limp. This is because I'm expecting them to push and try to steal the blinds with weaker hands just to survive. If I'm the short stack, or it's equal, I try to do what I normally do in that position preflop, so you can't tell when I've got a medium drawing hand or a monster pair. This strategy has worked extremely well for me lately, I've induced a push from a smaller stack many times in tourneys.
