Not going to happen. They paid for all the rooms on the boat. so it costs nothing to them to give away 90 rooms. at this point they are not going to add the 10K buy in.

Who would want to go on the cruise without a tourney entry?

[/ QUOTE ]

The cruise kicks ass. There are cash games going round the clock and Holland America is a great cruise line. I would highly recommend trying for this despite the fact that it doesn't include a PPM entry.

Point taken. Anybody know if the package includes airfare?

edit: sorry, I am indeed an idiot.

edit: in my defense, I haven't gotten the original email yet, and it doesn't look like the op included the asterisk. (ducks in case he's just making more of a fool of himself).

* The prize is not a full PPM V package. Cabin plus 500 USD only. Does not include airfare or entry to the PPM V tournament. One cabin can be won per player ONLY.

It clearly says that the package does not include airfare. But you get $500 in cash.

If I didn't already have a package I would DEFINITELY be trying for this.

Lots of people LOVE going on the card-player cruises that don't have major tournaments on them. And most report that they have an outstanding time.
Just because you don't get the tourney entry doesn't mean you shouldn't want it.

As mentioned before, the cash-games are quite good, the cruise is great, Holland America is great.
They also will probably run some otrher second-chance tourneys on the cruise for $500 or so perhaps if you really want your tourney fix.

if you are available to go on this (and have a GF or wife you want to treat and impress) then trying to win this is a no-brainer.

They obviously have left-over cabins that they want to fill up with high-volume online-players (more rake for cardplayer and party).
Party VIP'ers luck out in this regard. Take advantage of it and try to get there.

Is the competition in the cash games closer to live competition or online competition?

Same for both limit and NL competition?

[/ QUOTE ]

The limit games from 5/10 - 20/40 were similar to party's games. There were a few total donks, but overall the games weren't easy.

However, this year they're given away over 100 packages to high rolling blackjack players. I think they're also giving packages for a slot tourney from their starluck/planetluck casinos. I'm hoping that the live games improve because of this.

I don't know about the NL games on the boat, other than there were a lot of them from 1/2 to at least 10/20, maybe higher.

If you win a cabin is there any way at all to just trade it or sell it for money? Id rather have even 2k than go on the cruise.

They are trying to fill up their empty cabins.

The chances of them refunding you the value in cash is roughly zero imo.

I think that the option to buy-in directly to the big money Slots tourney makes this promo a no-brainer.
