xmas 3 years ago. My wife was going to school at the time and not working. She would just babysit her younger sisters once a week or so for like 30 bux. She saved all the money from that for like 4 months and bought me a PS2 and FFX. Easily the best gift I've ever gotten.

I've gotten some pretty good gifts in my day. But in the 4th grade I got straight A's and my Mom got me a Sega Genesis (I was the 1st kid I knew w/ one) and I was totally pumped. Best gift ever!

Christmas last year. My wife and I were at home 3 days before christmas, I had just gotten home from the hospital after having my gall bladder removed, my wife went to the store to get chicken soup mix and I was home with the baby.

Someone knocks at my back door. It takes me a full 2 minutes to walk up the basement stairs to answer the door, and there is my neighbor (backstory: this crotchety old man and I don't get along, at all) with 2 sheets of paper.

"Is this your grandpa" He asks me handing me a page from an old book with a picture of my great uncle and some info about him and the things he enjoyed doing before WW2.
"That's my great uncle" I say
"Then this must be your Grandpa" and he hands me a similar sheet for my Grandpa. It's his service photo and stuff talking about him.
"I got these from the American Legion" he tells me "They were trying to get these out to the relatives."
I take them both and thank him profusely, call my wife, and we rush to get the one of my Grandpa framed before Christmas (thankfully my dad frames pictures professionally so it's not a huge deal)

My grandma opens it up Christmas eve and is in tears she is so overwhelmed, it was the first christmas since my grandpa went into the VA home for Alzheimers, and this helps remind her of the good times.

Best I ever got was the GI Joe aircraft carrier when I was like 6. That [censored] stayed put together in my playroom for like 3 years.

One year my parents got me every ghostbuster toy, everything, from the firehouse to the real backpack, nerf shooter, traps, all the action figures, the whole shabang it was cool.
