Eulysses,

While I might sometimes agree with you I would assume that at a 10/20 PLO/NLHE game most, or enough of the players, are familiar with a c/r. that's what makes it so funny to me.

I was playing a 10/20 half PLO/half NLHE live game a few weeks ago.

It was omaha and I had 33xx in the SB. someone in EP pots, 5 people call, I call, whatever. Flop K53. I check, someone bets like 150, everyone calls, I repot and everyone folds.

Everyone goes ballistic because I check-raised and the game breaks that very hand. The end.

If you check, I'm not gonna bet anymore, unless I have a good hand.

Wow. Sounds like you truly got a handle on why your opponents check raise. Your game theory professor must be so proud.

That's exactly what they should have done. You had a set. So why didn't you bet and let them know they should fold?

Everyone loves to "trap" and they think it makes them a good poker playar

I guess this is a confession -- I play seven card stud with an older guy at my office after hours, just for [censored] and giggles really, well one time I had hand and I check-raised...he was flabbergasted, I mean really upset, he spent close to twenty minutes explaining to me how that wasn't allowed and that was not how sporting and fair games are to be played. Thing is, he found out I was a player and was itching to play me because he was a seven card stud champ from his younger days...I guess this check-raising thing didn't start until televised poker or something... (Btw- I suck at stud, but am trying to learn, but he really really sucks, can you imagine how juicey those old time games must have been)

I've heard of games with c/r's being illegal, but I've never seen any, and I doubt I ever will.

And what's up with airplane food?
