johnny, this the hand that happened yesterday? if so, the stacks of the rest of the players are important too, UTG was shortish, right? which should mean this isn't the looser part of his range if he were making some kind of TWPesque play

This is a UTG open so it's pretty much never that TWP play anyway.

that's what i'm saying, UTG open (and half-stackish), nit reraises, this is where his stats (30/20) become way less important than the situation. but do bad 30/20s make this move with AQ/JJ/TT/99? it may be a fold, but i don't think it's a very easy one (if this is the hand i think it is i was sort of confused when i saw it)

FTP 2/4
$400 stacks.
UTG opens to $14
I raise QQ to $48.
Folded to primemutton in the BB. He's about 30/20; plenty aggressive.
He makes it $160
UTG folds.

[/ QUOTE ]

Pretty sure this is a fold. Also, pretty sure it's called a 4 bet, not a 3 bet. Raise = 2 bet, Reraise = 3 bet, Reraise of a 3 bet = 4 bet.

mike,

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was a 3 bet or 4 bet when I was writing the title.

Krantz,

No, this one just happened.
UTG was CTS and he had a full stack.

So....Would it be ridiculous to just call PF and get it in on any non-AK flop?

Yes. Unless he is a total brain dead moron, he will not bet the flop with less than KK.

If johnnycakes is anything like his Party style, his image has to be that he is not 3 betting less than JJ/AK here.
