I highly doubt ESPN wouldn't return money for ads they didn't run.

When Bodog pays them money for advertising, ESPN records a liability for unearned revenue. When they earn that revenue (i.e. show the ads that were purchased), they transfer that portion of unearned revenue into revenue and at that point record the revenue. If they do not show the ads, then they owe Bodog the money, just as if they had purchased a product on credit.

I really doubt a major company like ESPN would risk the negative publicity that would come from screwing over Bodog like that.

Is the move to Antigua likely to change their anti-Canuck policy?

I don't see what Antigua accomplishes that Costa Rica doesn't vis-a-vis Canada.

IMO Calvin Ayre feels he is rich enough and wants to ensure that he can always go "home" when this is over.

I think you are likely correct but there is no harm in asking.

honestly I have no idea about anything regarding ads and ESPN. It is irrelevant to the discussion. I posted this so people would understand once they saw the press release in a few days that their money was not at risk.

There has been enough BS we have had to deal with as online poker players I just thought it best to mention before it could be misinterpreted as Bodog leaving the US market or something silly.

I am actually surprised that more sites haven't done it to be honest. I mean who needs the hassle at the moment.

Unfortunately the move to Antigua will not change things for Canadians. Sorry.

It is also a huge priority for Bodog to make a European presence, this move will allow for that in full force.

And moving their big Sunday tourney to a time that is now unplayable to most Euros sure was a step in the right direction!

True, I'd forgotten where they were based. But, as beanie said:

Sigh. Oh well, thanks for checking. Guess I can't complain, that's only one site we're banned from, unlike our unfortunate neighbors to the south.

The point is the U.S. government might seize it. Exactly this happened to Paradise awhile back in connection with another well-known cable network.

thank you. Like I said I have no inside information but what if the seize the money until the company has a chance to defend itself. Clearly no one online company would be showing up for something like that.
