Re: Coaching via AIM -- is this legal?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I don't see what's wrong with it (ethically) so long as the person you're chatting with is not on the same table. [/ QUOTE ] It's not acceptable to get advice during a hand in live play so why would it be okay online? [/ QUOTE ] Stars has said its unenforceable so its not a rule. |

Re: Coaching via AIM -- is this legal?
It's legal, there are no laws making it illegal.
If it's ethical is another question. For me it is borderline. It really should be one player per hand, but this rule is so unenforcable I think that for on-line play it shouldn't be a rule simply because you only handicap those who are willing to follow the rules. |

Do the ship it holla ballas share hands when playing at different sites in the same room?
I am guessing they do, and offer each other advice. This goes on, no way of changing it. |

Re: Coaching via AIM -- is this legal?
It's absolute fine, as long as no two players at the same table are sharing hands.

Re: Coaching via AIM -- is this legal?
It seems to me that having Person A tell Person B every move to make over AIM is no different than Person A just doing it all himself, so what's the difference?

Re: Coaching via AIM -- is this legal?
Two heads better than one.
One person might be better than the other and is giving helpful hints. Ive done it. I do it. I would imagine lots of others do it too. This is a part of online poker, just like stat tracking and HUDS to name just two. |

Re: Coaching via AIM -- is this legal?
The bottom line is,if it is not against the site rules, its not a problem.Your friend is free to do what he likes "within" the rules of the game. Its an advantage, but you are free to pursue any legal advantage to improve your game i think.Whether its ethical or not is debatable.

[/ QUOTE ] Just to add-on, nut scratching is looked down upon at the upper-class level casinos that I've been to. Some of the [censored] ones don't care much as long as you don't walk around with your hand down your pants then touch the chips immediately afterwards. I've also been chided by the floor manager for casual porn viewing during a live session. |

Re: Coaching via AIM -- is this legal?
It's not against any terms of service I know of. It's specifically not against Pokerstars' terms of service.

Re: Coaching via AIM -- is this legal?
[ QUOTE ]
Is one player to a hand a rule on most sites? I know in a B&M this would be totally unacceptable, but I was thinking (going by memoery so I mgiht be completely wrong) that Poker Stars was on record as not ahving one player to a ahnd since it was unenforcable anyway. [/ QUOTE ] That's exactly what Pokerstars stated, and a recent winner of the Sunday Mill did this exact thing, it is legal within sites T&C's. |
