I've gotten fairly into eating raw meat recently. I buy tri tip steaks with as little visible fat as possible (coleman natural beef, free range, raised with no hormones and very rigorous testing procedures for e-coli and other pathogens)and slice it very thinly with some salt and pepper. Delicious, even the girls I live with will eat it.

That dish you ordered looks gross though

that is pretty disgusting looking to me.

i love sashimi (fish obv) with jalapeno. yum.

beef carpaccio is okay to me, it doesn't really taste like anything if you ask me. so thin, kinda boring.

i was not brave enough to try the beef tartare at craftsteak. it looked like dog vomit.

This is the signature dish at the 21 Club in Manhattan. Prepared tableside, and a hell of a lot of raw meat.

I tried this for the first time a month ago at a Korean restaurant. My friend recommended this dish, as she said it was "refreshing for a hot day". I couldn't get past a few bites, and I love all things Korean. I couldn't even really taste the meat, as it was served very cold, almost icy. I just wasn't feelin' it.

Fighting!

I've eaten it before. It's ok, but I prefer my meat warm (though not very cooked). If you're going to eat sashimi, salmon is the way to go.

I love steak tartare. I wouldn't, however, trust my countrymen with raw beef. Everything is smothered in chilies for a reason.

I've always maintained that I'd try just about any food once, but that looks pretty gross.

the only raw beef i have had was steak tartare. at first i was skeptical, but when i tried a piece it was delicious. to me it tasted like very, very tender roast beef. it is sliced very thinly so it almost melts in your mouth. i was impressed. this was at a high quality resaurant. personally, raw beef is one thing that i wouldn't want a bargain on. i want to be paying out the ass for it so i know it is very fresh.
