I think this is overpaying, but I am glad the Astros have done something in the way of offense. Now they need to get a top-notch pitcher.

Luke Scott > Carlos Lee. Dynasty, He will be getting close to $17 at the age of 36. He is also moving from one of the best hitters parks to a pitchers park.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, they in general are getting fine deals, as one would expect. The only contracts that are just awful IMO are 5/55 for Matthews, 4/44 for Pierre, 8/136 for Soriano, and 6/100 for Lee. Everything else falls in the category of a slight overpay (1/4 for Sean Casey, 3/14 for Alex Gonzales) or a pretty good deal. (4/18 for Speier, 1/8.5 for Alou, 5/75 for Ramirez)

[/ QUOTE ] They could get similar prodcution to Carlos Lee for a lot less than 100mm over 6 years. That is why it is a stupid deal, they are overpaying.
