Personally I think I'm done with pets, so no dog, the only thing I would consider getting in the future would be fish. It's just too hard to deal with stuff like this.

The reason my parents got tucker, was because we were mourning another cat that we had for 14years or so. He had 'water on the heart', some kind of enlarged heart problem that ended up killing him (r.i.p maxx). My mom spent a couple grand trying to get him fixed up, against dads wishes. Dad hadn't bonded with that cat like mom and I had, so I can understand I guess. This just makes it twice as worse though since we're pretty much in the same situation again. Dad has bonded with this cat, it's kind of like 'his' cat, so maybe he will feel differently this time around. I'll let you guys know what dad says.

may I ask how old you are?

I would've paid for the cat out of my own pocket, but I'm guessing that's not an option for you

OP,

Also forgot to mention that my IRL first name is Tucker, so I'm pulling for your cat.

That sucks. He looks pretty small for 2.5 years, but that's a good thing - hell, a friend of mine has two cats about that age and they're fat as hell and weigh like 40 lbs.

I don't know that you can do much about the wanderlust short of a shock collar - they don't understand boundaries so you might as well keep him in 100% of the time. Luckily my two kittens seem to be fine with the 1050 square feet that is their existence, I'd be hosed if they weren't.

Anyway, good luck.

He's not the same age in all the pics so that explains the size differences, and his puffy fur does make him look bigger, he is slender and really long.

He's definately not going outside anymore after this.

Thanks for your kind words and goodluck with your kittens!

If it were a rabbit, would you eat it?
