Agreed. I got 16k worth of coverage for my renter's insurance at about $8/month. But what makes it better is that since I signed up for renter's at the same place I have my auto, I got a $30 discount, which in effect makes my payments about $5/month. That's pretty cheap for having some peace of mind when I go on vacation or whatever.

fwiw i had to make sure my policy went over my condo association's master policy. some of them will apparently give you "insurance" but won't pay up if a master policy on the building exists.
