Re: Free Money
If you think Blake tanked this match or didn't give a pretty-close-to-full effort and that this is or was free money then you are living in a different universe than I am.

Re: Free Money
No not at all, i just think that this match MEANT a lot more to robredo. He needs to get the win to reassure himself that he is a worthy top ten player, having not won a match at shanghai. Why would blake give maximum effort knowing hes going to have to come out tomorrow and play Nalbandian?! It just doesnt make sense. Of course he wants to play well and keep up his level of form i just think at the price offered for robredo when he was a SET up was just to good to pass up. Win or no Win.

Re: Free Money
While I liked Robredo at +222 last night, for the same reasons you mention here, ( save the set up), I didn't get on him cuz I have the mortgage on Federer to win. As I type this, TR has his 2nd match point, it appears, although JB looks to have make a great comeback from 5-2, (and saved the MP).
I guess this match DOES mean somthing to Blake. I know these guys are rich and all, but they DO get 80k per win in prelims. |

Re: Free Money
I agree with all of that. I just think the fact that it was a dead match was generally factored into the line. These are professional athletes, Blake has ratings points (and $90k if he wins) to play for, etc. etc. I think it goes both ways.
Anyway, I'm on Robredo with you, but I think he's going to lose. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think a good portion of the line may have just been factoring USA $$$ on Blake, right? I mean, Isn't TR ranked #6? Wish I didn't have everything on Federer, I woulda made a nice coupla units on this one, oh well. |
