[ QUOTE ] there seems to be a thread about this every week. of the ones you listed get sopranos. do not get sex in the city. [/ QUOTE ] My bad, I surf here pretty regularly, and had not noticed. [/ QUOTE ] Okay, yes true this thread is overdone but I don't really care. Here are the shows you should watch: The Office(UK) Season 1 and 2(The Office(US) Season 2 is pretty good as well--season 1 was weak). Fawlty Towers Seasons 1-2 The Wire Seasons 1-3(all should be out on DVD, 4 is on HBO on demand). Firefly One Season only Arrested Development Seasons 1-3 |

It's not on your list, but get The Wire if you haven't already seen it.

Re: TV Series on DVD., Recommendations, please.
I'll second The Office. It is far and away the best show that I've ever seen. Get season's 1 and 2, then watch the first part of season 3 (in progress now) on youtube.
Seriously, there is no way you will be disappointed. |

Re: TV Series on DVD., Recommendations, please.
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!!!!
The old one if youre into camp But I think you should look more at the new series. The writing and everything is incredible. With the exception of the names and the ship its all been changed. BSG is now more drama than nerdy campy sci fi... (Im sure more than a few posters will back me on this). Olmos leads a solid cast and does extremely well himself. Start with Season One. Deal with a somewhat slow miniseries (of course it's slow; they have to introduce everyone). Then catch yourself up to Season Three (which is on Sci Fi now). Galactica is probably the best TV series youve never watched/heard of. You'll be amazed that a TV Channel (Sci Fi) that can give you "Mansquito" can also give you a Peabody award winning show of kickassery. |

[ QUOTE ] Veronica Mars. [/ QUOTE ] I'd say season 1 only, I think this show really dropped off in 2 and 3. [/ QUOTE ] I thought season 2 was pretty good. Not as good as 1 but still worth watching. 3 really has been a let down but isn't on DVD yet anyways. I think it's because the rape story arc isn't all that intriguing. I hear the ratings really stink so who knows how long it'll even be on the air. |

Firefly is great. I'm no Joss Whedon fanboy(I think Buffy and Angel suck), but Firefly is very entertaining.

For example, why did Adama give a functional nuclear warhead to Baltar when all he needed was the plutonium? This set up a critical plot point and they should have made it plausible. |

Re: TV Series on DVD., Recommendations, please.
I second the following:
Firefly Sopranos (obviously) Lost Entourage The Shield These should be top 5 on any list, but haven't been mentioned: Band of Brothers (actually, this should be #1) Rome Also get Always Sunny in Philadelphia whenever it comes out. Funniest show on TV for anyone under 35. |
