This poll is being taken too directly I think most "normal" people see what I'm trying to accomplish it's just good old fun.

B&M cardrooms and casinos are not just about poker it's about lifestyle and other casino games.

Like JJ said he sees a craps table and he thinks they are playing yahtzee.

I fit in the middle (which your 'poll' didn't allow for). I like as 'shiny and new' as my BR can afford although there IS something to be said for grunge.

I think what you are trying to do is great, but the way you are going about it is obviously rubbing some people the wrong way. The reason is because your poll is so biased and worded in negative spin.

Since no one really feels strongly the other way, you are not going to the strong argument and intelligent conversation you want out of the confrontation. Only people displeased in the way you present the information.

Bravo for trying to get something interesting going, but you have to look at your delivery objectivly if you TRULY want the discussion you say you do. Otherwise I can only assume that what you really want is exactly what you got.

Last time I played blackjack at borgata it paid out the right odds, and their craps tables went to 5x.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; the Borgata is the place where people with skill, but little money get to play with people with a little money, but no skill.

I don't like playing with nasty people and the Borgata has fewer of them. The folks who can afford to pay you off for a very long time are going to tend to feel the same way.

1) Must have a nice plush room with large bathroom, 100 channels, good room service etc.

Sure I care about game rules, but I don't play any EV- casino games. Just poker for me, thanks.

3) Would rather be around other well groomed people
Other than proper personal hygiene, don't really care.

4) Always have to stay at the "New and Shiny" places

5) Money is of no concern
It is a concern, but balanced against fun/enjoyment/bankroll.

Yeah, I've always hated people that becuase you like something that is popular, go around talking about how you like something because it is popular. I find these people get off on liking un-popular stuff, while I tend to like the stuff I like, regardless of how other people feel.

OP strikes me as one of these people (mostly from one other thread), maybe he's not, but this poll reinfoces that view of him that I have. This poll basically says people can only like the Borgata because its "shiny and new" and becuase they want to be snobby. I believe this issue (and almost every other issue) has many many more subtleties.

If OP really wanted to know the demographics the poll and OP would look very different from what it looks like. End of rant.

yup, but i dont pay for my rooms at the borgata so the bigger the better - the huge suites, the bathroom bigger than your house, the nice sheets and fluffy pillows... yup, gotta have it

never seen 6/5 at the borgata, but then again neither have you since you've never been there - their blackjack tables have always had normal AC rules since the place opened

yah, showers are nice, and so are things like nice clothes, shaving, haircuts, having a hot piece of ass by your side while gambling, etc.

nope, just the best, but unfortunately the two concepts are not mutually exclusive
