Superdealer what room and how long have they been there? I'm wondering if there are different models etc. and maybe you have old or cheap(or both) ones?

I'm really looking forward to them.

I managed to tip the auto shuffler twice when I was last in Vegas. I think it worked too...

I was totally with you until here...

i have notices a pattern. if you win one hand on shuffelmaster table during my down, you tend to win 2 more doring my down usually in a short period of time. and i dont attribute this to quality of play. it is just what i have noticed.

also we have a spade royal jackpot, and i have noticed once a shufflemaster starts putting high spades on the board, it keeps putting spades on the board for a while. I know the dealer cuts the cards and affects the outcome, but it is just what I have observed.

I'm not sure how long your downs are, but let's just say 20 minutes. That means you are probably dealing 12-15 hands at that table. Do you really find it weird that someone wins 2 or more hands? I'll make a large wager with you that this happens at EVERY single table regardless who/what is shuffling the cards. If you only deal 12 hands, then every person will win 1.2 hands on average regardless of what cards they hold.

I play at BAY101 and all of their tables have shuffle machines and I have never seen on overheat once. Foul a few decks?.. sure, but never overheat.

Are they going to add them to the no limit games? Probably not, right?

i have only been using them in my card room for about 5 months but here is my observations.

they tend to break down alot and over heat. but when they are working, they speed up the game.

the dealer doesnt have to count the deck because the shufflemaster does it every time it shuffles. guarantees 52 in the deck at all times.

there is a deck change on every hand, so the short stack wont slow the game down asking for a deck change hoping it will change his luck. (it seldom does)

easier on the dealers hands because there is no shuffeling. logically if a shuffelmaster is used for an extended period it will extend the career of a dealer . less wear and tear although it seems that burn out happend much faster than carpal tunnel

if it stops working during a down, keeping the game moving and fixing it at the same time can be difficult. offten times i just start shuffling and dealing and inform management. if they want to fix it they will. usually during the push so as not to slow things down much.

the machine tends to tear up the cards pretty quickly and a very obserbant player might pick up on marks left by the machine.

this is just what i have noticed in 5 months of use.

95% of this is complete crap. waste of time to write/read. sorry.

I've only played in a casino with a card shuffler once and I loved it. Less-waiting, more fish-slapping.

With how fast they would pay for themselves (not to mention more tips, less work for the dealers) I don't understand why a poker room wouldn't put them in. Pretend it's 15 more hands an hour * $4 rake = a $10K shuffler paid for in 167 hours.

Anyways, what are your thoughts on shufflers? Is everyone this superstitios about them?

[/ QUOTE ]

You're asking the wrong (well, right rather) crowd on superstitions.
