Re: Really strange spot
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] aa-aq prob fold. shove big draw. fold air. fold pair+draw. shove sets. [/ QUOTE ] how do you adjust your ranges if people lead into you like this in this situation 100% of the time? [/ QUOTE ] Tough question. Gotta start just going by instinct, I guess. Clearly, you can't just keep folding AQ+ here, if he's always leading at you here. Unless he's calling your re-raise, pretty dang light, there just aren't that many combo draws that he could have. So then, you push draws. You call AQ+, and sometimes call the turn with AA- sometimes. Of course, this ignores all the times when he checks the turn, and gives up his bluff. If he's doing this with good frequencies, though, this bet is very very strong. |

Re: Really strange spot
Seems like KK, or KQ if you have been 3 betting light.
If I had AQ here I prolly muck |

whats my plan here with aa? call/fold as well? what about a hand like AcKc? etc [/ QUOTE ] against this type of player / same history, AA crushes his range. AKs - well if he will push any turn I push flop |

Re: Really strange spot
Blank turns: no K's, 8's, [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]'s
AQ or better: call flop. call all-in/push blank turns but fold all other turns. big draws: push flop. air: fold flop. pair+draw: call flop. call all-in/push any turn. or push flop. sets: call flop. call all-in/push any turn. How'd I do? |

Re: Really strange spot
this is a pretty horrible situation for both of you. from his perspective, your range is in large part QQ-99, 3 of which have sets. so he probably give up with his light 3-betting hands. if he has AA-KK or AQ, he'll probably bet but but then i'd think usually fold to a shove, which would be about pot-sized, by you (maybe with AA he'd call). but hands like 88, T9, TT, JT, QT, 98 will all get a free shot at you if he chooses to check behind with them, which seems like the right play to me with those hands but it's close. if you bet you risk getting all worse hands to fold, but you protect your hand from all those hands with outs.
overall i say get greedy and try to get some value and check. if the turn is a K, 8, or T you probably have to give up |

Re: Really strange spot
[ QUOTE ]
muck AA, shove AQ, shove KK [/ QUOTE ] this made sense when i first read it, but there are 2 opposing factors. AA has less outs than KK or AQ, AQ is much more likely to be behind than AA, because KK or AA are two of his possible leading hands here. AQ is never ahead when the money goes in. AA is way ahead of both KK and AQ |
