[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] i almost always donk the turn. [/ QUOTE ] What do you do if he raises? [/ QUOTE ] usually just fold given the pot size. [/ QUOTE ] The thing is, I worry about him making a free showdown type raise with a hand like A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] or 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I guess I'm just being too paranoid? I think sometimes when I feel a little out of my element (as you probably guessed, I don't usually play quite this high) I tend to think that everyone is going to make moves on me all the time. |

No problem limping UTG with this hand in this type of game.
Flop c/c is very bad tho, IMO. I would definitely bet out and hope to take it down right there, but I can also see a case for c/r. Your reasoning for c/c is chicken sh!t tho. On turn I would keep pounding. You are probably still best. River is a classic Clarkmeister. You hate it but have to bet it. |

folding preflop in a live 15/30 game is insane. not putting in more action on the flop or turn is insane. betting the river when the 4th club hits is insane.

So clearly c/c flop and turn is very wrong (I figured so practically as soon as I did it). So let's say I c/r the flop and villain just calls. I Lead the turn and villain calls again. Then the 4th club hits the river - does everyone like a clarkmeister here, or is it time to give up? |

I'm going to agree with most everyone else here, lead out on the flop. Fold if he raises you again.
As to the river I think the Clarkmeister is the best move in this situation. I feel a little nervous everytime I do it, but it works so many times that I've stopped questioning if it's the right play. |

pf play is standard. Check raise the flop. Since you didn't, I B/F turn. River is played fine.

[/ QUOTE ] Why do you want to put in so much action on the flop when our equity changes a ton on the turn? I think you lay down the best hand with this line far too often as well. I'd likely 3bet the flop and bet the turn with a big club if I was the villain. I like a c/c on the flop and donk on the turn. probably fold to a raise on the turn. |

[/ QUOTE ] I feel cheated every time I hear this referred to as the clarkmeister, because I articulated it earlier. Maybe it was pre regristration a different name or something. Likewise, the Ed Miller dictum on the diminishing returns of hand reading with non nut hands on flush or otherwise boards. All the bad advice I've given, I'd hope that the good at least bore my signature when it was before others with that distinction. In any case you played it fine. I could complain about nearly every street. I would never do the same, but I like the tenacity here, a lot. |
