I was going to add in my post that the hulk on the right is ugly as sin.
We agree on something. I think this is a first. -Zeno |

[ QUOTE ]
Once the democrats win the House and if they take the Senate (a good possiblity) how long (in months) before impeachment proceedings are started against Bush and Cheney? Just a marker statement, as the OP was, for use later. [/ QUOTE ] I saw Pelosi say on 60 Minutes that she wasn't interested in this, and I would even be willing to make a small prop bet. I believe her, she's a politician first and foremost, and she has to know both instinctively and historically that impeachment proceedings would generate sympathy for Bush and the Republicans. |

Nancy 'Bolshevik' Pelosi fulfilled my predictions with a gorgeous show of hooey today. Just the news snippets I saw on TV were enough to prove that in spades. The new Goddess of Liberty, Justice and the American Way plowed her way through propagandist hype, demagoguery, and shrill nonsense so good that I was almost clapping myself.
The note I enjoyed most is that Nancy started the day in Church (Catholic, which fits her like a glove) PRAYING. No doubt she was advising God on how to run the universe. The dripping sanctimony, hypocrisy and sheer imbecility of her pontifications only added to a very political day in Washington D.C, Capital of Idiocy. God Bless America! Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard. -H.L. Mencken Le Misanthrope |

[/ QUOTE ] Bah, what do you expect with GWB as president? At least, now, democratically he is a lame duck president having lost control of both houses. I guess the only think better would be an impeachment or an international tribunal. At least the democratic voice of the USA made itself clear. Thanks to all who did so. |

[ QUOTE ] winners have a field day ushering in the New Jerusalem, Saving the Planet, punishing evil corporations, [/ QUOTE ] zOMG the horror! [/ QUOTE ] what about the glaciers? - who will save the poor, innocent suffering glaciers? if Republicans had their way they'd put a fence up around each one and charge kids 10 bucks each to see one before it disappeared - I'll side with the Democrats - the only shrillness I heard so far is from whiny Republicans pissed cause Pelosi is going to run the House for the first 100 hrs the way they ran it the last 6 yrs - poor little babies - they'll get their input when the first 100 hrs are up and it'll be a lot more input then they allowed the Democrats to give when they were the minority party. we have a mandate, or didn't you know - and a responsibility to the American People, not Republican fatcats and bloated pork juggernauts of Fiscal Conservation. Maybe they can spend the first 100 hrs. chilling out, sipping whiskey neat and hopping on a fiscal treadmill. God bless Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats - now bring our boys home. rb |

God bless Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats - now bring our boys home. rb [/ QUOTE ] I watched ABC network news last night. They interviewed 3 freshman Democrats including Heath Schuler. All three agreed that they would be doing nothing to change the situation in Iraq. Even Charlie Gibson in the lead up and the summary of the interview made a point of noting the fact that for all those who elected these guys to change things in Iraq, nothing was going to happen. So those of you who voted on the Iraq issue will instead get a bunch of new socialism and taxes, but nothing new on Iraq. A sort of poetic justice if you ask me. ![]() ![]() I think Pelosi is the lesser of two evils. [/ QUOTE ] The images above were posted two months ago, but it should be noted that Hastert was never an option. He did not have any support to be elected speaker again in 2007 if the GOP held the house. These were the real choices: ![]() ![]() John Boehner would have been a better choice. |

[/ QUOTE ] tomorrow the Democrats will release their official statement regarding the planned escalation of the Iraqi War - I expect them to be VERY vocal about it, I expect them to be protesting it, and I expect them to be using their powers of oversight to ensure the warprofiteers are brought down and our troops brought home. And should GWB not listen to the will of the American People, he can look forward to losing more Republican seats - were it not for the resulting loss of life necessary for him to totally finish blowing off his own big toe, I'd say "surge ahead" - I would look forward to the Republicans becoming as irrelevant as the Whigs - but unfortunately, for him to blow his big toe off, sink his party further, and finalize his legacy as one of the worst presidents in history, he has to escalate the war in Iraq - unacceptable. where you been BGC? - ain't seen you since the loss - (doesn't have anything to do with the * in your title, does it ) I was gonna send you the link where we got in an argument in 2005 and I pointed out your side would soon lose both houses of congress. the wind makes a lot of noise, but does nothing - You will see more from this Congress that will be better for America in one session then we saw during the 12 yrs of Republican trough gorging. - You should be happy - the will of the people has been roused by a level of incompetence not seen since that guy fell asleep behind the console at Cherynobl rb |
