[ QUOTE ] Winning in Tough Hold ’em Games; Short-Handed and High Stakes Concepts and Theory? [/ QUOTE ] I only heard about the first book. Who is going to be the author of the second one? [/ QUOTE ] I believe the second book is by stoxtrader |

I really think it would be best if one (or both) of these titles were changed. [/ QUOTE ] True that...it almost seems like the two books are going to overlap in content...anyone want to explain the differences? |

I think there will have to be some overlap in content.
But this almost has to be the case for books about limit-poker. One might be more of a 'theory' book and the other more of an 'instructional' or example 'this is how you beat the games' kind of book. But I'm not sure. Think we had covered this in a previous thread a little bit. For the most part, I don't care if they are THAT different from each other. I'm really interested in reading what all the different authors have to say even if they are mostly covering the same stuff. I was mostly addressing my concern that it's difficult to distinguish between the books because their titles are so similar. |

True that...it almost seems like the two books are going to overlap in content. [/ QUOTE ] I would actually want there to be overlap in content, the advanced play that will be discussed in both books is expected to reach hew heights in shorthanded play, HU play, and blind defense. I want to read as much material as possible, the more the merrier. If you can't wait I advise subscribing to Stoxtraders video service, it will make your eyes pop out of your head with all the short handed knowledge he lays down! dammit....I've been blowing off getting the Stox video subscription.
but with a recommendation like that I don't think I can do without it any longer. I completely agree with wanting as much as possible on all the short-handed aspects these really smart guys would care to tell us. Different players have different approaches as well as different ways of explaining things. Zee, Sucker and Stox are all going to have some really sharp ideas to present I suspect and I can't wait to dig into them. |

[/ QUOTE ] Honestly, the limit videos are really that good. Countless "winning" players have adjusted their game after viewing his blind play, myself included. His aggression is more selective compared to the standard borderline spew approach commonly found on the short forums from the guys who have been running on the positive side of variance, funny how these same people generally are the guys who experience HUGE downswings that are 800+ bets at times (I included my former self in this list). yes, you are describing my play perfectly.
I come from the super-spew style that is sometimes so bad that I'm not even playing a winning game much of the time. 800+BB downswings aren't even 'dwonswings' most of the time imo. They are just stretches where I (you, whoever) am pretty much playing losing poker because I somehow gave up on actually 'thinking' and am just on 'continuation-bet auto-pilot'. |

[/ QUOTE ] I haven't seen all the videos, but this is actually the thing that most surprised me about the videos-- he almost always follows up his preflop raises with a bet on the flop. |

TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] Is the short-handed material about limit or NL or both? What does it cost? I looked at the web site, but didn't see any cost info. It looks like you have to get into the registration process before you find that out. Thanks. |
