Is cheating in a casino actually against the law or just the casinos rules? i.e. if he is actually found guilty of cheating could he face fines/jail time/sth else?

Yes, it's against the law and Nevada is VERY harsh on casino cheaters. If this is true, he will definitely face some time if found guilty.

Augie - Congrats.

I had a close-call last night in my PCA-qualifying efforts in the $33-rebuy. But I didn't see you at the final-table so I guess you won a different event.

My understanding is it's a double whammy - you do hard time, and in prison you're a punk.

Plus you can't enter a casino once you get out.

It's definitely a felony in Nevada. Also the dude who said "i can beat any b&M game 30-60 and lower for 4 bb/100 without cheating" is full of it.

They should be treated like pedophiles in jail. Or close to that. If any casino or cardoom had a little extra security against cheats I would think it would do very well. Perhaps some excheats that can look for the things that normal security guards might not notice. Pay them 20 bucks an hour and pay someone else 30 to watch them.

There was a tv special a while back I caught where they showed a guy doing LIFE IN PRISON for being caught cheating in a casino, third offense, or something like that. Its [censored] ridiculous the penalties they have for it.
