I would check/call the turn. Villain could be bluffing or have a smaller overpair. I don't like betting and folding to a raise. There is too much in already.

What makes you think it was right?

Flop: Either Pushing outright or on the C/R would have been fine. If he's got 44 or 99, why doesn't he rr you here?

Turn: Double pairs the board...so what? It's still far more likely that Villian has overpair to board but underpair to Aces than he has 99 or 44.

No, it isn't. He's just wrong too much to make it +cEV.

The suggestion's just for the wrong street, that's all. Take a look at Villain's action. This is A9 or TT-JJ mostly.

you played this hand atrociously

Well put. Actually, I think I did everything I could to lose that hand. Thanks for the responses.

Welcome to the forums!

As Nez said, few accept constructive criticism well here when misplaying a hand. Accepting the insight of others regardless of whether it goes against your opinion is a major step in improving your game.

I don't think the play on any one street was terrible. I think OP made minor mistakes every time.

However, the problem was the approach, which is basically typical donk thinking. First, it was AA is a lock hand preflop and on the flop, and he bets small so noone will fold.

Then on the turn, he feels that if he checks he has to fold. This is kind of weak/tight thinking. At that point, there is a good chance villain has a pp raher than a 9 (or 4), and OP probably has odds to call.

I really don't think minraising with AA preflop is ever more benficial than a normal raise (unless you minraise with everything else which is a different story) and therefore I think preflop was terrible.

The other streets are debatable.
